Description

The MIT Folding Endurance Tester is designed to evaluate the bending durability of various materials. It measures how many folding cycles a material can endure under a defined tension and bending angle (typically from +135° to -135°). Commonly tested materials include aluminum foil, copper foil, paper, flexible circuit boards, and similar substrates. For conductive materials, the tester can detect the number of bends before electrical conductivity fails. For non-conductive materials, it records the number of bends until physical breakage occurs. The system features a user-friendly 2.8" touchscreen interface, allowing users to set the bending speed, target number of cycles, and view an estimated test duration. The machine automatically stops and displays the total number of completed cycles when it detects either a loss of conductivity or sample breakage.
